Participating in Focus Groups and Surveys Puts Cash in Your Pocket

January 23rd, 2010 by Steve Wygant | Filed in get paid for surveys

A source of easy money made quickly is paid surveys and focus groups. The funds accrued from paid surveys and focus groups can allow you to invest in stocks or bonds, or even pay off extra bills. You may decide to use the money to conduct surveys and focus groups of your own. It is not time consuming to begin taking surveys or participating in focus groups. It takes only a few minutes.

Before you hope right in to the world of paid surveys and focus groups, there are a few things you need to know. Whenever you see a “new and improved” label on one of your favorite products, you can be pretty certain that the advances made came in response to customer input and needs. That consumer response came in the form or paid surveys or focus groups sponsored by big business. Companies actually pay to hear consumer complaints and suggestions because they use them to improve their product design. As a rule, a company will hire a reputable marketing research firm to design and implement focus groups and surveys relevant to the products said company wishes to improve.

Rewarded Surveys:

Participants are usually offered one of two different kinds of surveys.

One kind is the one that rewards you in a non-cash manner, through redemption points, gift vouchers, etc.

Another type is one offering cash rewards, generally $10-$30 for each 30-45 minute survey you participate in

Paid Focus Groups:

Chat rooms are the general forum for focus groups because diverse groups of people can easily be brought together from across the nation to talk with one another and share their experiences and opinions about a particular product. As a rule, chat room focus groups last between 30-45 minutes, but pay a bit more than a paid survey of the same length. It is important to note that your rewards will vary from survey to survey and chat group to chat group and pay-outs are determined by the type of focus group in which you participate. Occasionally you might be invited to participate in a focus group that pays as much as $100.00, but such focus groups have specific selection criteria and require their participants to do some advance research, so they also consume more of your time.

Participating in focus groups and paid surveys can easily add up to a significant amount of money, and you pretty much determine how much you want to earn by choosing how much time you invest.
