Don’t Get Caught In A Sales Person’s Hype - Here’s The Actual Paid Surveys

August 30th, 2010 by Lucille Harris | Filed in paid surveys

There are an amazing number of companies on the web trying to promote the idea of getting paid to fill out surveys. Despite the hype, there actually is an opportunity to make money by giving your opinion.

Many companies find that they are out of touch with their customers. They really have a need to know what their buyers are thinking when they purchase, or decide not to, purchase their products.

What’s the difference between a real survey offer and an attempt just to get into your wallet? The tip off is that if the company is willing to pay cash for you to complete the survey, that’s good. Anything else they may offer, like “points” or “rewards” are a danger signal.

How can you locate the legitimate companies?

Here’s where we separate the wannabes from the seriously interested. I spent hours and hours sifting through survey offers. Some appeared legitimate, but when I dug deeper, they turned out to be just people who wanted to sell me something.

I really got tired of the whole mess. I also compromised my email address quite a few times by giving it to who knows what kind of fly by night company. I decided to stop searching.

A few weeks later I found myself in front of my computer again wondering how I could make some money. I came across a small e-book that I downloaded that seemed interesting. The e-book wanted to provide me with real surveys to do. Unfortunately they recommended a membership site that wanted a fee to join. That fee requirement stopped me.

The idea of working from home still seemed attractive. I kept coming back to the idea. It sounded so nice. And I needed the money. I re-read the e-book again. Aren’t web page bookmarks wonderful?

I visited the membership site again. They offered a lot of really good information. If only I could trust them to follow through on what they promised, everything would be fine.

Then I got to thinking that the membership comes with an 60 day money back guarantee. What if I tried it, did some surveys and other stuff, such as focus groups, and didn’t make any money? I could get my membership money back and in the worst case I would be right where I am now.

Some time has now passed and I’ve got to tell you that I really did get my money’s worth from my membership. What I was promised in the sales literature was delivered and the information was priceless.

Looking back, I wonder why I hesitated so long to spend the few bucks that the membership site wanted. I’ve completed quite a few surveys, all for cash and I’ve gotten back far, far more than my tiny little membership fee.
